SAFETY WARNINGS FOR THE USE OF ACTION TRAINER DUMMY ROUNDS

PLEASE READ AND FOLLOW THESE WARNINGS CAREFULLY.   FAILURE TO DO SO COULD RESULT IN SERIOUS INJURY, DEATH OR PROPERTY DAMAGE.

KEEP THESE WARNINGS WITH YOUR DUMMY ROUNDS FOR FUTURE REFERENCE BY YOU OR OTHERS

  1. TREAT ALL GUNS AS LOADED. Keep muzzle pointed in a safe direction at all times – even when dummy rounds are being used.  Never point a gun at yourself or another person.
  2. These dummy rounds are intended as training aids for “ball and dummy” drills and to teach gun handling procedures such as loading, unloading, reloading and clearing stoppages. They are NOT intended for use in role playing exercises, simulations or any other activity in which guns are pointed at human beings. (See Rule #1 above.)
  3. Firearms training exercises should be done under supervision of a qualified instructor.
  4. Be sure to use dummy rounds of proper caliber or gauge for your firearm. Insertion of smaller caliber/gauge dummy in weapon could allow dummy to move forward of chamber, causing obstruction and burst barrel if live rounds are then chambered and fired.  Use special care and adequate safety procedures to prevent mixing dummy rounds if firearms of more than one caliber are being used on the range at the same time.  (Caliber is displayed on bottom of shell case.)
  5. AFTER USE, completely unload firearm AND ALL MAGAZINES OR SPEEDLOADERS to CONFIRM that ALL dummy rounds have been removed. Collect all dummy rounds back from shooters – have them check their pockets.  Failure to recover all dummy rounds could cause weapon stoppage during a lethal confrontation.
  6. AFTER USE, UNLOAD, LOCK ACTION OPEN AND INSPECT FIREARM thoroughly to be sure bore is unobstructed and no dummy rounds, plastic tips or plastic fragments remain in the gun. Failure to do so could cause stoppages or burst barrel when gun is later used with live ammunition.
  7. In setting up “double feed” or “failure to extract” stoppages, ease the action closed (rather than letting it slam closed) to prevent damage to dummy rounds and reduce risk of plastic fragments in firearm.
  8. In setting up “double feed” or “failure to extract” stoppages, use one dummy round in firearms’ chamber and a second dummy round as next round feeding into chamber. Never use live round in either position, to avoid serious injury or burst firearm! Using live round in chamber could result in out-of-battery detonation of chambered round if bullet tip of feeding round hit primer.  Using live round as second round could cause result in compressed powder charge (bullet forced back into case) or damage to cartridge, resulting in excessive pressure and burst gun if fired.
  9. Inspect used dummy rounds before re-use and discard any in which plastic bullets have become loose, cracked, broken or deformed.
  10. For training with .223cal (5.56 mm) or .308cal rounds it is very important to ride the bolt forward by hand when setting up double feeds. This will greatly increase the life of your .223 or .308 rounds.
  11. These dummy rounds are not intended as firearms safe storage devices. Lock guns up when not in use to render them inoperable or inaccessible to unauthorized users.
  12. Secure dummy rounds out of reach of infants and small children. Dummy rounds are small, brightly colored and attractive and could present a CHOKING HAZARD!
